There are 29 Consultants who work across GRH and CGH. TheDirectorate has developed a wide range of special interests includingtrauma, spine, hip, knee, foot and ankle, shoulder, hand andpaediatric surgery. There are 3 Associate Specialists, 7 Specialty Doctors/Staff Grades, 9 Specialist Registrars, 3 CoreSurgical Trainees, 6 Trust Grade Junior Doctors, 5 F2 Doctors, 3 Physicians Associates and 2 Advanced Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioners in the Trauma & Orthopaedic department.Orthopaedic trauma and elective spinal surgery is based at GRH with the majority of elective Orthopaedics based at CGH. Both hospitals have strong input from Orthogeriatrics and patients with hip fractures aremanaged on a dedicated ward with shared care from both teams.There are daily fracture clinics and specialist elective clinics in both sites. Elective clinics are also held at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital each week as well as 9 community hospitals in the region.
