If so, we want to hear from you The Role: We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team at a secondary school in Blackpool, UK, with a start date in September 2025, although earlier start dates may be possible for suitable candidates. In this dynamic role, you will supervise students across a range of subjects and year groups during the short-term absence of their regular teachers, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment is maintained. Key Responsibilities: Supervise students carrying out pre-prepared work in the classroom. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a calm and focused learning environment. Follow school policies and procedures, particularly regarding behaviour management and safeguarding in the UK. Provide students with guidance and support to understand tasks and stay on track. Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of students in your care. Report any issues or concerns regarding student behaviour or learning to the appropriate staff member. Be flexible and adaptable to cover different subjects and year groups as needed. Undertake relevant training and professional development as required within the UK education context. Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection guidelines in the UK. About You: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with secondary school students in the UK. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain order and focus. Adaptability and flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. A calm and patient approach when dealing with students. A genuine interest in supporting the learning and well-being of young people in the UK. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the UK. Desirable: Previous experience working with secondary school students in a supervisory or support role in the UK. Familiarity with the UK secondary school curriculum (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4). Training in behaviour management techniques relevant to the UK context. First Aid certification. A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate on the update service. Location: Blackpool, Lancashire, UK Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time / Supply (depending on the role) Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner for suitable candidates) Salary: Upwards of £96 per day PAYE (£480 per week minimum).
