QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
1. Minimum qualifications 3 GCSE grades A-C (Maths & English) or equivalent qualifications or experience
2. Numerate and literate and able to handle numbers / patient details accurately and without error.
3. Level 4 Qualification e.g. NVQ, HNC, BTEC, Foundation level degree or equivalent experience in the NHS
Desirable criteria
1. IBMS Certificate of Achievement (Part II)
Experience
Essential criteria
1. NHS Experience
2. Minimum experience of 3 years working in a Pathology Blood Science / Specimen Reception Department
3. Knowledge of laboratory information and management computer systems and standard IT Microsoft packages e.g. word processing and spreadsheets
4. Exhibit competency to work alone
Desirable criteria
1. Scientific Background
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
1. Ability to work within all areas of the department
2. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
3. Possess good training and presentation skills
4. Must be able to organise own workload
5. Good manual dexterity and coordination.
6. Technical Skills in performing POCT
Desirable criteria
1. Knowledge of Audit.
2. Ability to use laboratory equipment.
