We are looking to recruit a Mobile Applications Developer to join our IT team based in our Scotland East region. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated application developer who has strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively assist with the delivery of projects which are deliverables of the overall strategy.
Good communication skills are essential to assist and support our internal customers as they adopt the new features and functionality which have been deployed. This person will have a natural passion and drive to the ‘get the job done’ and will possess a good team working ethos, with a specific focus on patching and regular updating of frameworks for our app portfolio.
The successful candidate will have a willingness and ability to undertake work both on site and in our regional offices throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
1. Development, improvement, and maintenance of new and existing smartphone apps and web apps.
2. Ensure the ongoing reliability, security, and performance of mobile applications by regularly patching vulnerabilities, updating dependencies, and keeping the codebase current with the latest libraries, frameworks, and operating system versions.
3. Monitor and assess emerging vulnerabilities and software updates relevant to the app's technology stack.
4. Plan, develop, and deploy patches or updates to address security concerns, compatibility issues, and performance enhancements.
5. Test and validate patches to ensure they do not introduce regressions or disrupt app functionality.
6. Provide ongoing support and technical expertise on existing apps and the creation of any new apps which may be required.
7. Provide second-line support for employees regarding all apps within the business.
8. Attend stakeholder meetings, gather requirements, and contribute to the product roadmaps.
9. Provide remote and in-person training on existing and new apps for employees within the business.
Pre-requisite Technical Skills
1. JavaScript
2. HTML
3. CSS
4. NodeJS
5. Node Package Manager (NPM)
6. Visual Studio Code (VS Code)
7. Creation of implementation and test plans which are specific to the project/functionality required.
Desirable Technical Skills
Experience in building apps using the following technologies/frameworks:
1. Angular
2. Ionic
3. Cordova
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
1. System design or IT related college or university degree.
2. 6 months to 1 year experience in IT.
3. Experience in the design, coding, and testing of technical solutions.
4. Understands systems development lifecycle processes.
5. Experience in training developed solutions to a proficient level.
