We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Commissioning Manager, covering the establishment of teams for the South West Water and Essex and Suffolk Water Regions. You will provide the required commissioning planning as both regions develop, grow the team as required and then take on one of these regions full time. Travel between the regions will be required on occasion, so you may be physically located in any suitable MWH office in the south of England.
You will report directly to the Head of Commissioning and Framework Director You will deliver commissioning planning and commissioning activities for all projects in the appointed region. You will also provide ownership of the commissioning process through all stages of a project lifecycle and achieving efficiencies associated with handover as the teams develop.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Resource prediction and management within the appointed regions - especially establishing a profile of growing team size
2. Day to day delivery of or management and coordination of all commissioning and commissioning planning activities, including planning for process commissioning and testing, within those regions.
3. Effective engagement with client and operational staff to:
4. Obtain buy-in to proposed commissioning plans
5. Ensure the effective integration of assets into the existing works without detriment and risk to service level agreements.
6. Achieve fast and effective handovers (including the timely delivery of all commissioning documentation, training, etc).
7. Develop and operate an optimised interface with the MWHT engineering team to ensure “design for commissioning”.
8. Prepare training plans, organize specialist training by equipment suppliers and personally deliver training where appropriate.
9. Facilitate feedback of improvement information from commissioning.
10. Encourage and manage off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or others.
11. Ensure Commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures.
12. Ensure all necessary Commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and co-operate with Technical Documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O&M manuals.
13. Drive efficiencies and operate tight change control procedures.
14. Monitor, measure and report on performance within those regions and drive continuous improvement
15. In conjunction with other Commissioning Managers and the Head of Commissioning, develop and improve commissioning processes and systems.
