Main duties of the job The major workload of the department is head and neck cancer with microvascular reconstruction, the management of skin cancer and both benign and malignant salivary gland disease. All other areas of maxillofacial surgery are also provided including orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology and temporomandibular joint replacement. In addition there is a comprehensive maxillofacial trauma service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person Specification Qualifications Essential • Full registration with General Dental Council • Dental core trainee - Year 3 completion • F.D.S or M.F.D.S Desirable • A.T.L.S Clinical Experience Essential • Shall have completed 4 years full time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) since first obtaining registration, including adequate experience in the specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies • Practical competence to a level commensurate with the duties of the post as demonstrated by surgical log book.
