We currently have an exciting opportunity within Group Entertainment Engineering for a TAPS Engineer, providing national field support across all Home Service departments. The TAPS Engineer is responsible for providing in-home support for our engineers and customers and will work as part of the broader Sky Support Services team. The team operates within a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning to provide a high level of technical expertise across a range of disciplines and will work supporting the resolution of more complex in-home issues.
What you'll do
* Continued support of the development of the technical skill base and knowledge of the field engineers
* Developing key links with the field regions, training providers and business partners ensuring that technical support/guidance is targeted, timely and appropriate
* Providing where necessary in-home support to engineers due to escalated customer issues
* Management of the transfer of product information to our people in the field and working with training to ensure the sharing of best practice is understood and shared effectively
* Continuously seek to build knowledge and awareness of technical issues in the field and support develop the consolidation of this information into a central library of information
* Providing technical support and solutions (including engineer/customer visits) to our field engineers
* Development and provision of technical reports/papers and communications to the field
* Provide daily support to the wider TAPS team around all aspects of Product Safety
* Working closely with the wider Global Entertainment Engineering teams to understand product issues and how they relate to our customers
What you'll bring
* Previous experience in an installation, maintenance and servicing role, with a large emphasis on problem solving.
* Proven experience in a communications, consumer electronics, or satellite installation company would be ideal, along with customer facing experience.
* Able to demonstrate full usage of the Televes H30 meter and (where appropriate) provide supporting evidence of continued compliance.
* Great understanding of Wi-Fi principles along with a methodical approach to fault finding.
* An in-depth understanding of Wi-Fi interference and any impact on Sky customers.
* Demonstrable high performer and must be a team player.
* A thirst for knowledge, always prepared to adapt to the ever changing technology.
* A detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Grafana & Tableau would be beneficial, although not essential.

You will be field/home based, and initially your core working hours will be Monday to Friday 0830-1700, 37.5 hours per week (this may need to be reviewed at some point in the future to support business needs). Participation in an ‘out of hours’ rota is also required to allow the team to provide support at weekends and public holidays.
