Support Worker
The Role
LOCATION:
Covering a variety of areas within the cities of Greater Manchester, including occasional visits where permissible to the head office in Swinton, Greater Manchester, M27 6AD.

£12 per hour
HOURS:
Working a combination of shifts, from the hours of 07:00am to 22:00. All Support Workers are required to work 6 days out of 7 including bank holidays, including weekends which are on a rotational basis and in accordance with the operational rota system.
As a Support Worker, your role and responsibilities are to provide a quality service in line with the Dementia Care & Support at Home Limited guidelines and policies and procedures. You would be required to provide a service by promoting independence through positive reassurance and communication strategies with the utmost adherence to dignity and respect for our service users, who expect a quality and reliable service within their home or other residential premises such as shared accommodation specifically for vulnerable adults.
Your role will involve delivering our services to service users within their homes or other permissible residences, therefore we trust you to provide a confidential, reliable, dignified, person-centered service, which is needs-led to meet the specific individual needs of our service users.
Daily duties and tasks will include but are not limited to the provisions of requested personal care needs, social care needs, and enabling care and support services to all our service users within the local communities of Swinton and Greater Manchester.
PARTNERSHIP WORKING:
As a Support Worker, your role will involve working with many people who have a variety of roles. This is known as ‘partnership working’. Developing good partnership relationships improves the quality of care provided.
1. To deliver high quality of care to Service Users and their families.
2. To provide the highest quality of care to service users in their own homes in accordance with their support plan, in a person-centered approach.
3. The range of tasks that the Support Worker may be required to undertake covers but is not limited to personal care, domestic/practical tasks, and enabling, promoting independence.
Personal care includes washing, dressing, bathing, showering, toileting, and medication monitoring and/or assistance. Social duties include preparing and cooking meals, essential cleaning, shopping, assistance, and support with bill paying and health & safety including fire checks. Enabling and support may include activities such as supervising, monitoring, and coaching to empower service users to be as independent as possible and have control over their own lives. Support Workers may also be required to escort or accompany service users to outings, appointments, or other events.
To be aware of the personal needs and requirements of your service users, communicating successfully with your service user, their family, friends, and other healthcare professionals. Ensure that all care is completed within the Dementia Care & Support at Home Limited Policies and Procedures, Care Quality Commission Fundamental Standards, and all contractual and legislative requirements.
