Job Title: Deputy Head Teacher (SEN School)

We are currently seeking a Deputy Head Teacher at our SEN School in Congleton. This friendly and successful provision supports vulnerable children aged 7-18 with special education needs and serves as a base for outreach services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership to the teaching team, enabling them to achieve outstanding outcomes for learners and act as delegated authority in the absence of the Headteacher.
2. Contribute to the educational and social development of each young person, forming effective relationships with young people, their families, and external agencies.
3. Ensure safeguarding is a priority in all decisions.
4. Conduct peer reviews and supervision with teaching staff to maintain high standards.
5. Lead curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
6. Identify strategies to overcome individual pupils' barriers to learning.
7. Plan and deliver effective lessons that promote deep learning.
8. Address the emotional and physical needs of young people and support their personal development.
9. Promote equality and diversity.
10. Maintain quality records and monitor progress.
11. Ensure personalized educational programs based on robust assessments.
12. Follow Teacher Standards and act on young people's views.
13. Ensure appropriate resources and inclusive environments.
14. Contribute to self-evaluation and liaise effectively within the team.
15. Behave flexibly and undertake additional duties as delegated.
Requirements:
* Qualified teacher status (QTS).
* Experience teaching at key stages 4 and 5, preferably in core subjects.
* Relevant NPQ qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Experience with safeguarding strategies, school assessment, and improvement.
* Specialist knowledge in maths and/or science is desirable.
* Experience in SEND/SEMH.
* Willingness to act as delegated authority.
* Full UK driving license and own vehicle.
