An essential role in ensuring two programmes from the Government's Major Projects Portfolio and of national importance are being progressed in an effective and compliant manner.
As Assurance and Compliance Lead, you will provide confidence to internal and external stakeholders that BDUK's Projects are being delivered in accordance with our stated and regulatory processes, project delivery functional standards and subsidy regimes.
You will work within a team responsible for managing the risk exposure within the organisation and across projects; your role will be to provide targeted assurance that reduces risk exposure at key stages of the project lifecycle or within key business processes; and to provide specialist advice and guidance in relation to telecoms related subsidy regime matters.
Along with other Assurance and Compliance Leads you will develop and implement assurance for projects and products that is proportionate, timely and allows for lessons to be learned and continuous improvement to be embedded, building collaborative networks that are aligned for project success.
* Manage, plan and co-ordinate the overall assurance process and promote best practice in application of assurance standards across BDUK's projects.
* Provide advice and support on telecommunications related subsidy matters to BDUK, Suppliers, Local Bodies and wider DSIT to include training resources.
* Establish, plan and manage Assurance reviews at appropriate points during all stages of the project life cycle to provide independent evaluations of progress against time, cost, quality, compliance with subsidy regime, ongoing viability and achievement of strategic objectives.
* Identify, share, report and promote best practices and lessons learned to create a culture of learning and good practice that supports continuous improvement to optimise the delivery of Project Gigabit and the Shared Rural Network to include deep dives or desk top reviews.
* Develop a clear understanding of BDUK's Strategic Risks, contribute to the reduction of risk exposure in projects through assurance activity and advise on assurance methods. Enable improved understanding of BDUK risk profile through reviews.
* Coordinate with relevant BDUK teams to resolve any shortcomings arising from assurance reviews, to include oversight of the setting, recording and tracking of project actions and conditions.
* Develop and maintain records to meet subsidy transparency requirements, designing tools and processes to do this where necessary.
* Leading on the delivery of subsidy requirements for current and future BDUK products.
