Sustainability and Building Life Cycle Assessment Consultant

The Role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the sustainable built environment to join their Building LCA team.
You will be based in their London office and join a team of multidisciplinary sustainability consultants who bring their cross-industry experience and in-depth knowledge to find bespoke solutions for both the corporate and built environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the delivery of sustainability strategies and services, including:
1. BREEAM LCA, BREEAM LCC, Whole Life Carbon, Pre-Demolition Audit, Operational Waste Management Plan for new and existing buildings
2. Develop Circular economy statements
3. Perform detailed calculations to find material flows, greenhouse gas emissions footprints and other environmental metrics as may be required
4. Prepare detailed LCA reports, including data visualizations, interpretations, and recommendations for improvement
5. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate LCA findings into the building design and construction process
6. Consult clients to determine expectations and achieve key deliverables
7. Promote and engage commercial clients on the merits of LCA and circular economy principles
Skills and Qualifications
1. Have a passion for sustainability and the sustainable built environment
2. A degree in a relevant field such as construction, engineering, or architecture
3. Deep understanding of LCA standards and methodologies for assessing environmental impacts across a building's life cycle
4. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to building LCA
5. Knowledge of using various LCA software such as eTool, OneClick LCA, or OpenLCA
6. Familiarity with green building rating systems (LEED, BREEAM, etc.) and environmental regulations
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. A swift problem-solver with initiative
9. Ability to evaluate complex information, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions
10. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
11. Understanding of the sustainability challenges that organizations face in today's climate
