This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and knowledgeable specialist Safeguarding Team as an Adult Social Care Worker. An Adult social care worker in the safeguarding team is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, such as adults with disabilities, and the elderly. This involves assessing and supporting social care and health care providers in managing risks, investigating reports of abuse or neglect, and providing support to those in need. The role requires collaboration with various professionals and agencies to protect and promote the welfare of vulnerable people. The role is to support the team in undertaking preventative work, working directly with care providers to improve the knowledge base of safeguarding and to drive good quality care within the health and social care sector. What will you be doing? Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to determine the level of risk faced by individuals and identify protective factors. Investigations: Lead and participate in investigations of reported abuse, neglect, or exploitation cases. Case Management: Develop and implement care plans that address the needs and risks identified during assessments. Monitor and review the effectiveness of these plans. Advocacy: Act as an advocate for vulnerable individuals, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals and agencies, such as the police, healthcare providers, and educational institutions, to coordinate care and support. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all assessments, plans, and actions taken to ensure accountability and continuity of care. Training and Development: Stay updated on best practices in safeguarding through continuous professional development and training opportunities. Community Engagement: Engage with the local community to raise awareness of safeguarding issues and promote preventive measures. Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals. Legal Compliance: Ensure all actions and interventions comply with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. About you You will be an empathetic and compassionate individual, who can support vulnerable individuals. Through your previous roles, you will have developed the ability to work under pressure, handling complex situations and solving problems. You'll need to have great communications skills, and work well in a team environment. It's also important that you have knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices for this role. You may have a degree or NVQ 4, or the ability to demonstrate knowledge gained through detailed practice and application for procedures in adult social care. You will be required to drive and have transport. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost.
