We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager to oversee the efficient and safe Front of House operations across all RSC Stratford venues, whilst ensuring that our visitors and audiences are consistently placed at the heart of the organisation by delivering a world-class visitor experience.
This position is offered as a 12-month, full time, fixed-term contract, working 35 hours over 5 shifts per week; this includes working matinees, evenings and every other weekend. Rotas are drafted four weeks in advance.
Reporting to the Senior House Manager, duties and responsibilities will include:
* Working primarily in the evenings and at weekends around performances, leading the Front of House team and welcoming audiences to performances and events.
* Overseeing our buildings ensuring the safety of all staff and visitors.
* Taking a positive and proactive lead role in providing a genuine welcome, assisting visitors in resolving any problems and ensuring they have the best possible experience whist with us.
* Ensuring the safe and smooth running of all on-site activity. Taking charge in an emergency, being prepared to respond to a wide range of incidents.
* Being responsible for the presentation of the public spaces; reporting and following up on maintenance and housekeeping issues.
To be suitable for this role, you will have:
* Significant previous duty management experience in an arts or visitor attraction within a visitor experience team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to identify and solve problems and respond confidently to incidents.
* Knowledge of Front of House systems, including safety, fire, security and/or terrorism/emergency procedures
* Flexibility and availability to cover RSC operating hours
