We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated registered midwife with a keen interest in data quality and clinical informatics, to assist with the maternity digital transformation programme, Better Births and the NHS Long-Term Plan at the Royal London Hospital. The postholder will support maternity services to progress the national digital agendas whilst driving digital transformation and data quality to ensure appropriate MSDS submissions.
The postholder will provide support and leadership in optimising and developing the electronic maternity systems within the Royal London Hospital to support the delivery of optimal clinical care. The postholder is responsible for training and supporting all staff involved with the maternity solution (doctors, pharmacy, prescribers, nurses, midwives and AHPs) encouraging the adoption of digital working and positively influencing the digital culture. The post holder will provide clinical governance for maternity electronic solutions, and be a point of contact for managing maternity digital incidents, issues and clinical concerns. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the daily validation of maternity data to support optimal data quality for mandatory reporting and CNST.
This post has been created following the drive within the national maternity transformation programme for digital midwives to continue providing leadership, coordination, facilitation, evaluation, and improvement across local digital maternity work streams.
The role will support the design and implementation of national digital programmes, oversee the tracking of progress against digital transformation plans and develop a networked approach to enable digital transformation. They will also play a part in supporting NHS England to achieve its five digital missions, which include reducing the burden on staff, giving people the tools they need to access information, ensuring safety and improving productivity.
The post holder will act as an autonomous, accountable practitioner working within the existing digital team and in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team. They will be visible to staff and available to provide informatics support to midwives in their day-to-day settings.
The post holder will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, and a key element within the role will be ensuring quality data is submitted to inform trends and service improvement.
This role will further support the digital agenda within the Better Births and Long-Term Plan Reports which include driving forward the digital transformation of health and social care including progressing the quality of maternity dataset.
