Executive Director, Financial & Capital Markets (FCM) in London-1 London Bridge St, United Kingdom
About the Role:
This is a senior Leadership Team role, working across the CMA organization to drive growth into the FCM client base, which often has somewhat different use cases to the more traditional chemical corporate clients. As the Executive Director you will develop business plans and strategies to grow the business into the Financial and Capital Markets client base, which includes Investment Banks, Equity Sell side Research, Asset Management, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Quant Funds. You will work with internal stakeholders in sales, product management, marketing, business development and research to identify white and brown space opportunities and develop programs to grow the pipeline and ultimately win new business.
You will lead the development, redesign and growth of the Chemical Advisory Service (CAS), a curated product specifically targeting the asset management and related community. In addition to this, you will assist in the development and production of a new Chemical Market Analytics wide Strategic Insights product, that requires regular interaction across the value chain teams globally, targeting C-Suite, Investment Banking leads, Investor Relations.
You Will:
1. Undertake commercial focused calls and in person meetings with prospects and clients, with the ability to work with the CMA commercial teams in putting together appropriate offerings.
2. Manage and develop the skills and contribution of the FCM Senior Research Analyst, including preparation of the monthly publication of the CAS, and assisting with the repositioning and redesign of the offering.
3. Initiate a regular dialogue and meeting schedule with key high-level heads of Chemicals Investment Banking, to assist in potential consulting project wins.
4. Develop and maintain an internally focused update analysing the key developments in chemical markets from the reporting and performance of the major listed players, including price, volume margin trends, sector share price performance, to allow CMA internal audience to understand how the corporates are reporting performance and outlook expectations.
5. Take the lead in getting relevant FCM participation at WCF, both attendees and speakers.
6. Facilitate collaboration efforts across the broader Dow Jones organisation, including WSJ, CMM, Private Equity News, Financial News and Barrons, to broaden the awareness of the CMA offering to the FCM community, to aid in the growth of the BoB and consulting.
7. Regular analysis of the FCM BoB, to allow the full understanding of the revenue trends, including pipeline analysis.
8. Maintain and develop a Roadmap document that focuses on future enhancements and product development.
You Have:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business or STEM related subject and substantial demonstrable relevant work experience.
2. Excellent English communication skills (Verbal and Written).
3. Knowledge and experience in either the chemicals or financial markets, and ideally both.
4. Ability to understand the clients need, and then build and negotiate an appropriate product package offering, in conjunction with the commercial team.
5. A strong work ethic and able to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines and with a high attention to detail.
6. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical and communication skills (written and oral) and be self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve results.
7. Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and the use of analytical tools such as databases, spreadsheets, process documenting and business intelligence applications.
8. Experience/knowledge of data visualization applications, data analysis and data modelling.
