What skills and experience we're looking for
Main Duties:
• to play a leading and highly visible role in the improvement of teaching and learning practice of colleagues within the faculty and hence improved outcomes for students
• to engage in educational and academic research to provide rationale that underpins pedagogical development
• to ensure you demonstrate the highest standards of teaching, learning and achievement
• to play a lead role in the academy’s Teaching & Learning Team to ensure the development of a culture of research and innovation to support outstanding teaching practice and hence have direct, positive impact on the quality of teaching, learning and student progress in Mathematics, and the potential to develop the role across the wider academy.
• to contribute to the wider leadership and management across the Academy, in supporting the realisation of the Academy’s aims and objectives
• to teach Mathematics across the full age and ability range
The successful candidate will be someone who:
• an acknowledged practitioner with a clear understanding of the characteristics of high-quality teaching and proven experience of teaching across the whole age and ability range
• motivate both colleagues and students to work hard and try their best through passing on to them their infectious enthusiasm and passion for teaching!
• actively share good practice and seek to explore ways to improve their own and others’ teaching
• work hard to ensure all students make at least expected progress irrespective of their starting point and individual needs
• understand that behaviour management starts with the quality of teaching in the classroom
• demonstrate leadership qualities including personal resilience, drive and initiative and role model those personal qualities we wish to see in all our staff and instill in our young people
