Receptionist - Dinas Powys Medical Centre
We are looking to appoint a caring, professional, and enthusiastic person to join our friendly team.
The successful applicant will ideally need to have experience of engaging with the general public, both face to face and over the telephone.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure all visitors and telephone callers to the practice are greeted professionally.
2. Manage all calls appropriately.
3. Manage the flow of patients arriving at the reception desk for appointments, prescriptions, or queries.
4. Signpost patients to the appropriate services as a care navigator. Full training will be provided.
5. Greeting and booking in patients for surgeries and clinics.
6. Dealing with patient enquiries efficiently and courteously.
7. Receiving and documenting telephone messages and taking appropriate action if required.
8. Making and cancelling appointments using the clinical system. Full training will be provided.
9. Liaise with clinical staff and outside agencies.
About Us
We are a practice serving the community of Dinas Powys and the surrounding areas. The practice comprises of 5 partners, 3 salaried GPs, 3 practice nurses, and 1 Health Care Assistant as our clinical team.
The reception/admin team comprises of 7 receptionists, 2 secretaries, 3 administrators, and a Pharmacy Technician.
We are a friendly, approachable team who work hard to deliver a high standard of care to our patients.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working with the general public both in person and over the telephone.
* Experience of working in a primary care setting.
Qualifications
* Not required as full training will be given.
