About us:
If you’re looking for a part time vet role where you can develop your skills and pursue areas of interest, then we have a great opportunity here for you at Doncaster Vets for Pets!
You’ll be joining an inclusive, supportive team, who truly do work as one team and are passionate about being at the heart of the local community. Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients. As an employer, we are committed to promoting and protecting the physical and mental wellbeing of all our colleagues by having an onsite mental health first aider. We’re also proud to be both a PSS accredited and a TP practice.
You will be supported by 2 other experienced vets and 1 new graduate vet. Out of our 2 owners we have one who has a passion for surgery and this allows for a varied caseload in practice. Along with the vets you will be supported by a great team of 5 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 2 VCAs as well as a full reception team.
We are in a great location being close to the motorway, or a small walk to the bus/train station, with ample free parking too.
About you:
We are ideally looking for a part time vet for 30 - 35 hours per week with no OOHs and weekends are only Saturdays on a rota basis with limited cover to keep it fair for everyone. Ideally your rota would be for a Monday, Wednesday and 1 in 3 Saturdays, Saturdays will be sole charge.
Along with a competitive salary of up to £50,000, we offer all the standard benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships, competitive salary etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression, exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home), and relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if needed (we’re an A+ rated sponsor).
We’re generous with our CPD offering, which colleagues are actively encouraged to use to further their interests and develop their skills in a direction of their choosing. So, if you want to pursue a post graduate qualification or certificate, we’re happy to help support that.
Ideally you will have 3 years + qualified experience and you should have small animal experience gained as a general practitioner, and great people skills. You will be comfortable with sole charge but will also relish being part of a team.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
