Project Administrator - Civil Works/ FTTx
Initial 6 month contract
Up to £275/day (INSIDE IR35)
Fully remote
We are seeking a Project Administrator for an initial 6-month contract, working inside IR35. This is a fully remote position, providing flexibility while playing a key role in our client's team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of permitting, wayleaves, rights of way, and asset sharing (such as PIA in the UK) for the deployment of this client's fibre network.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the entire permitting process, including monitoring Streetworks activities.
- Work closely with Build Managers and Build partners to efficiently plan and schedule work.
- Gather and organize all required permit information for both ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Maintain regular communication with Build Teams to ensure permits are accurately administered, avoiding Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) or additional charges.
- Assist management in addressing and resolving any FPNs related to completed works.
- Set up and manage resources, processes, and strategies, ensuring the compilation of all necessary documentation for Planning Permissions, Wayleaves, private permits, Asset Sharing (PIA), and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs).
- Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience, with strong connections within Local Authorities.
- Proven expertise in Wayleave and Planning processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local regulations for civil works in the UK.
- Strong understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act (TMA).
- Leadership skills, with a customer-focused approach, strong negotiation, and planning abilities.
- Previous experience in FTTx or other utility projects in the UK, with a basic understanding of FTTx architecture and design.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to take the initiative.
- Confident and effective communicator with an inspiring presence.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Openreach PIA processes, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
- Over 5 years of experience in permitting for telecom or utility projects, with extensive knowledge of UK Deployment Regulations.
