Bridlington Hospital Catering Department requires an enthusiastic Catering Operative to work in all areas of the Catering Department, Main Kitchen and Dining Room.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible, in order to work variable hours. You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills.
Applicants must be able to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload and be able to carry out physical tasks.
Main duties of the job
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Delivering food to and serving patient food to the wards areas
2. Serving food and drink to customers in the Dining Room
3. Working on the tills
4. Using ward ovens to regenerate food
5. Keeping the ward kitchen clean
6. Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
7. Washing up and other general cleaning duties.
8. The role also could involve working in cold rooms to pick patient food and also working in pot wash.
The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player and able to work on their own unsupervised. Full training will also be provided.Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.

9. Good basic education which includes reading and writing plus basic numeric skills
10. Basic understanding or a willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training which includes: Food Hygiene Level 2

11. BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in cleaning/catering or equivalent
