Materials Engineer
Recruiting for a Junior or Senior Materials Engineer. This is a staff position based in Woking supporting a number of FEED and EPC petrochemical, Oil & Gas and energy transition projects.

Joining our Engineering business as a Senior Metallurgy & Corrosion Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and exciting projects. As part of our highly experienced Engineering team, you will provide value-adding, specialist engineering support to our clients. This role will be based in Woking.
Your responsibilities:
1. Contribute to projects across Engineering and Consultancy Services markets (Oil and Gas, Hydrogen and Low Carbon), with responsibilities including:
2. Supports the discipline supervisor for the selection of materials, corrosion assessment and development of deliverables.
3. Providing corrosion and materials support for all the project and lifecycle stages from Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, Detail Design, Construction and Operational.
4. Experience in materials selection and corrosion for the operational assets.
5. Design and review of coating and painting systems onshore pipelines, onshore oil and gas buried metallic structures.
6. Knowledge of cathodic protection will be added advantage.
7. Reviews, and checks the materials activities including Philosophies, Specifications for coatings, protection, insulation etc, Material Selection, Calculations, Drawings, Datasheets, preparation of Technical Requisitions & Bid Evaluations. Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal/ contract by raising technical queries with projects / client.
8. Identifying and resolving discrepancies and divergences from original proposal/ contract by raising technical queries and/or identifying trends and changes within the framework of management of change.
9. Experience of CRAS and RBI will be added advantage.
10. Writing of Materials Selection Philosophies, Reports and preparing Materials Selection Diagrams
11. Writing of Materials Specification (Coating and Painting, Insulations and Sour materials)
12. Work experience of the corrosion models (ECE, Predict etc)
13. Work experience of CCS and Hydrogen projects will be added advantage.
14. Contributing towards bids and proposals.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/ Certification:
15. Engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in metallurgical and materials
16. Work experience with major oil and gas companies in Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC/EPCm
Communication:
17. Excellent oral and written communication and skills.
Core Competencies:
18. Knowledge of CO2, H2S corrosion, CO2 Dense Phase, H2, MIC and Chlorides degradation mechanisms is required. Ammonia and Biofuel corrosion is considered advantageous.
19. Knowledge of Coating and Painting requirements and specification
20. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and mature approach to work.
