The Clinical Fellow will work alongside the other anaesthetic trainees within the Department of Anaesthesia and intensive care. There will be valuable experience in the day to day running of a large anaesthetic department.
The postholder will be expected to attend directorate and faculty meetings and it is hoped they will play a full part in all discussions. All doctors will receive instruction and training as appropriate to their needs.
The Clinical fellow will be expected to exercise an intermediate level of clinical responsibility but ultimate responsibility for the patients they treat will rest with the relevant consultant. The post holder will work on 1:8 on call rota pattern and form one member of a full shift, first on call for ICU, Theatres or as SRA (Senior Resident Anaesthetist).
The Initial Assessment of Competency in Obstetric anaesthesia and Primary FRCA (or equivalent) are essential and the postholder will be expected to take part in the on call rota.
