Job purpose:
The Regional M&E Lead is a newly created role, which is responsible for providing technical expertise and supporting Data Centre Managers in the operation and maintenance of the Data Centre’s equipment, systems and infrastructure. In this role you would play a key role in the upgrade and improvement of all infrastructure and equipment, making a significant impact on operational excellence, safety, energy usage efficiency and reduction of Operational risk. This role will involve travel between all of the sites in the Southern region (Reading, Maidenhead or Croydon) and occasional out of hours availability by phone. The role does not have any direct reports but it does have a dotted line into it.
Key responsibilities:
* Oversee all High / Critical mechanical and electrical operations, maintenance and energy management programmes;
* Ensuring risk is minimised and all works are compliant with safe systems of work;
* Take the technical lead and support DCM’s;
* Review and approve change requests;
* Carry out the duties of HV and LV Senior Authorised Person;
* Oversee all training and development programs;
* Ensure compliance maintained at all sites.
Our ideal candidate:
* Experienced senior electrical engineer (qualified by degree or experience);
* Experience maintaining and repairing of mission critical infrastructure and operations;
* Experience working in the data centre industry is desirable but not essential.
