We have an exciting new opportunity on a 12-month maternity cover for a Commercial Manager to join our UK&I Services business. In this role you will be key in coordinating market leading proposals and will be responsible for commercial input into bid responses, commercial due diligence and negotiation/closure of complex contracts and providing support to business development teams to close deals through liaising with experts across the business. This role is instrumental in growing profitability and expanding our industry-leading position across target market segments of public sector, solar PV, and hydrogen-ready CHP’s. In this role, you will work in partnership with the multi-functional teams in a matrix structure to gain buy-in for both tested and new ways of delivering commercial contracts. You will have a key role in providing commercial expertise to the business and being a strong commercial representation at client meetings. Location: Ideally you will be based near to either our Stockport or Windsor offices with flexibility to travel to sites as may be required. Who are we looking for? Competence and knowledge of complex commercial structures is at the foundation of this role as is creative thinking to ensure a rapid deal qualification to deal closure cycle. Skills and experience: Proven experience working as a commercial manager within the energy industry Ability to negotiate and close contracts with a strong working knowledge of key contractual provisions, performance conditions, commercial risk and mitigations Excellent stakeholder management, able to collaborate well with internal and external colleagues across geographical locations Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Ability to utilise standard internal stage gate processes across functions to reduce closure time for opportunities and advance the deal cycle from qualification to commercial close Adherence to commercial contract best practice, ethical standards, laws and regulations
