Imports Clerk
Location: Camberley
Salary: £27-30,000
My client, based in Camberley, is looking for an Imports Clerk to join their team. This role involves working within the Imports team, dealing with Ocean Freight Shipments daily. We seek candidates with exceptional organisational skills who can build strong working relationships with customers over the phone. The hours of work are from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have experience in order processing, communicating with suppliers, and approving and placing orders.
Daily Duties:
1. Communicating with overseas suppliers by e-mail and telephone.
2. End-to-end purchase order processing.
3. Receiving orders from our purchasing team.
4. Approving and placing orders with suppliers.
5. Pricing negotiations with suppliers.
6. Tracking and tracing orders and shipments through order placement, production, sailing, and delivery.
7. Detailed shipping document checks and various import license applications ensuring compliance with current UK Import Laws and requirements.
8. Liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and haulage companies.
9. Liaising with our warehouse team for goods-in bookings.
10. Receipt and delivery of container orders and palletized deliveries.
11. Conveying supplier price changes, periodic promotions, delays, and other correspondences to all teams and senior management members.
12. Placing purchase orders and booking stock in on Sage 200.
13. Account and database management.
14. Clerical and documentation management.
15. Negotiating and organizing road haulage and ocean freight.
16. Placing orders with suppliers in the UK and arranging delivery.
