You’ll manage and monitor project budgets, tracking expenditures, ensuring cost control while maintaining transparency with financial stakeholders.
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:
* You’ll either have a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, (or a related field) or a Chartered Status or Membership with Relevant Professional Bodies such as:
* CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) – Member or Chartered Construction Manager status
* RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) – Membership or Chartered Surveyor status, ideally in the Building Surveying or Project Management Pathway
* Construction Site Safety Certifications
* A recognised project management certification would be useful, but is not essential
* Proven track record of managing construction and fitout projects, preferably with multiple store rollouts
* Retail experience would be desirable
* Experience preparing and managing the tendering process, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors, with an understanding of balancing quality and cost
* Experience in budget creation, cost estimation, financial tracking, and cost control to ensure projects stay within budget
* Background in applying value engineering to optimise project costs while maintaining quality and design integrity
* Experience working with internal stakeholders (e.g., design, finance, procurement, operations) to gather pre-construction information and align on project goals
* Familiarity with securing building control approvals, planning permissions, and other regulatory consents required for construction projects
* Hands-on experience managing contractors, suppliers, architects, and consultants to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines
* Experience conducting site visits and quality inspections to ensure construction work meets design specifications and quality standards
* Knowledge and understanding of CDM2015
* Experience in preparing detailed project reports for senior management, highlighting project progress, budget performance, and potential risks
* Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, including contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders, to meet project goals
* Meticulous approach to ensure that every aspect of the fitout meets quality, safety, and design standards
* Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing project needs, timelines, or unexpected challenges
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines efficiently
