We are delighted to be supporting our client, a specialist in electric automotive technologies, with their search for a Senior Business Development Manager to support with continued business growth in the UK & Europe.
As the Senior Business Development Manager you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering key areas of Business Development and Commercial activities required to achieve sales targets and deliverables.
Key Activities:
Business Development & Sales
* Identify new opportunities – Prospect for potential customers and to generate leads.
* Develop sales strategies – Create and implement effective sales plans.
* Manage sales pipeline – Track sales progress and ensure timely completion of sales milestones.
Product Development & Innovation
* Collaboration with R&D – Work closely with research and development teams to develop new products.
* Align products with market needs – Ensure that products meet current and future market demands.
* Provide market insights – Share market intelligence to inform product development decisions.
Customer Relationship Management
* Build and maintain relationships – Develop strong relationships with existing & potential customers.
* Understand customer needs – Collaborate with customers to identify their specific requirements.
* Provide solutions – Offer tailored solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations
Market Analysis and Research
* Identify market trends – Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements & regulatory changes.
* Analyse competitor activities – Monitor competitors’ strategies, products and market share.
* Conduct market research – Gather data on target customer needs, preferences & buying behaviours.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Experience in electric motor, transmission, or a related area with a demonstrable aptitude for distilling complex technical concepts into clear and concise messages.
* Prior experience in working within an ISO9001 organisation with an understanding of process driven management of the commercial function.
* Previous experience of selling into the automotive and / or commercial vehicle sectors is desired, and implementing supply agreements or the like, in these sectors.
* Previous history of working with a full commercial stage process and CRM system.
* The ability to speak a second European language is desired but not essential.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills working with cross-business teams and with customers.
* Be comfortable with travel to customers, exhibitions & events as this is a key part of the role.
* Competent to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment in line with an aggressive sales plan
