Job Description
We are seeking an AWS Technical Lead to join our software delivery team. This role calls for a seasoned professional to guide and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers, while also contributing their own technical expertise to our projects. As a Technical Authority, the successful candidate will shape strategic decisions within and across teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, valuable software to our customers. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact.
What you'll be doing:
1. Collaborating with other Technical Leaders to develop long-term strategies that enhance product quality, security, performance, observability, and maintainability across Group Technology development teams.
2. Serving as a Technical Authority within and across multiple teams, addressing complex coding and engineering challenges in a way that provides lasting benefits to the company and our customers.
3. Developing software that can be quickly and easily iterated upon, enabling the company to bring high-quality features to market swiftly. Ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, provide significant business value, adhere to quality standards, and align with standard engineering practices.
4. Coordinating and overseeing technical work across multiple development teams to minimize duplication, enhance collaboration, and provide clear progress updates, ensuring smooth delivery of cross-cutting concerns.
5. Continuously researching relevant technologies, identifying and implementing opportunities to integrate them as appropriate. Leveraging your knowledge of technology options and surveying the external market landscape for insights, direction, and vendors, keeping our applications up-to-date, relevant, and efficient, and delivering value to the business and end-users.
6. Analyzing technology solution alternatives, evaluating associated benefits, costs, and risks. Conducting gap analyses and developing proof of concepts for new solutions.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
1. Extensive knowledge of software testing frameworks and strategies.
2. In-depth understanding of CI/CD, release strategies, and secure development practices.
3. Proficient in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, with experience in Microservices patterns and frameworks.
4. Proficiency in Java, Spring, or Node.js, along with web security, REST services, API security, Docker, Jira, Confluence, TDD, Scrum, and Git.
5. Experience as a technical contributor within a development team.
6. Skilled in conducting effective code reviews.
7. Proven ability to contribute to maintainable software features.
8. Expertise in analyzing, debugging, and solving complex problems.
