Main duties of the job The successful candidate will join the Surgery & Critical Care Group as part of our team of pre-assessment nurses. This role will require focused assessment and patient communication skills, as well as the ability to work with a broad range of healthcare professionals to ensure patients are optimised prior to their surgical procedure. With focus on private patients that are being treated in our trust. They will also be expected to work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines and take responsibility for:a. Protecting and supporting the health of individual patients and clientsb. Assessment of care and health education needsc. Development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient There is also an expectation for the successful candidate to demonstrate leadership and management skills in taking charge of the department in the absence of the person holding continuous responsibility, and in acting as a facilitator/mentor preceptor to all learners.
