Our Young Lives service offers specialised practical, emotional and social support for asylum-seeking and refugee children and young people. The service aims to provide trauma-informed care that can be accessed by families or individual young people.
We provide:
* Intensive support and link work to help families and young people access other Action Foundation services and external community services.
* Regular youth groups in Newcastle and Gateshead along with social, sporting, and educational activities to enrich lives both in and outside school.
* One-to-one support sessions providing guidance and pastoral care, along with confidence and resilience-building activities in collaboration with trusted partners. The service emphasises the importance of listening to young people with lived experiences of migration, involving them in decision-making processes to create effective programmes designed by the people who use them.
