We have a fantastic opportunity to join our 14-16 Alternative Provision at Bradford College as a Campus Liaison Officer.
The 14-16 provision caters for approximately 200 young people who are accessing an alternative education programme, either as a referral from their current secondary school or as home-educated children. The provision has learners with a range of backgrounds and academic abilities, some with EHCPs and others with undiagnosed additional learning needs as well as social, emotional, and behavioural issues. We are a nurturing provision that prides itself on a strong pastoral and well-being support network.
Your approach with students should be respectful and professional at all times, exercising patience, empathy, and understanding of their backgrounds and needs. You should have sound knowledge of the social, economic, and personal factors which present risk to students, and be able to demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.
This is a term-time role working 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
Responsibilities include:
* Welcoming young people into the building, ensuring everything is running smoothly and supporting young people engaging with their learning and activities.
* Maintaining a welcoming and visible presence around campus.
* Supporting the delivery of enrichment activities.
* Supporting and advising on safeguarding concerns, referrals, and welfare.
* Responding to issues of concern regarding learner behaviour and welfare and supporting staff with behaviour management.
* Minimising disruption to learning and teaching by ensuring high expectations and standards concerning compliant behaviour and behaviour for learning in line with the provision's Positive Behaviour Policy.
* Acting as first aider.
* Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in line with College policies.
* Liaising closely and regularly with college Security and Liaison Officers on other campuses to ensure consistent and swift interventions and practice.
