Production Engineering Manager – help shape the future for offshore wind in the UK
SeAH Wind is on a mission to set the global benchmark for monopile manufacturing. As the largest monopile factory in the world, we are entering an exciting phase of pre-production commissioning. This is your opportunity to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact.
You will lead and build your own team to service three key areas:
1. Operational Standards: Lead the entire process flow, including gas cutting, milling, welding, rolling, coating, and heavy lift controls.
2. Project/Client Specifications: Interpret, define, and execute client requirements through precise engineering instructions.
3. Technology: Maximise reliable output from existing technology while innovating to identify and implement new and emerging technologies.
Pivotable to this role is having demonstrated effective leadership; SeAH Wind is not looking for somebody who is an expert in all areas but can establish a team who can deliver what the business needs.
You will be required to work closely with HSE, Production, Quality, Facilities and Maintenance, and Sales Managers in your daily routines, whilst your reporting line will be to the COO.
Your focus
* Demonstrated effective leadership, and ‘Making It Happen’.
* Ability to build and lead a team to meet business needs.
* Oversee production engineering requirements at a project level.
* Focus on reducing the cost of poor quality (COPQ) through continuous improvement principles.
* Commitment to research, development, and innovation to enhance operational efficiency.
* Ensure safety in working processes and product handling.
* Approve engineering documentation and assess new tenders and bids for future investment needs.
Your skills
* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as PDCA, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Whys, and APQP4Wind.
* Experience in managing production engineering teams, Finite Element Analysis, report writing, and delivering engineering projects.
* Leadership experience in production engineering within a manufacturing setting, with expertise in welding, fabrication, and supported with machining environments.
* Passion for developing engineering talent and an innovative approach to engineering execution.
* Membership (or Fellowship) in a recognised professional institution is preferred.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
