We are looking for a new Full-time Assistant Service Manager to oversee 2 of our local services in the Gosport/Fareham area. The services both have great train and bus links, and are near the closest train stations. You would be supporting adults with learning disabilities and additional health needs. All of our service users enjoy activities such as cooking, baking, arts & crafts, gardening, meals out, communal parties, swimming, and visiting local shops, cafes, and restaurants - it would be great if you enjoyed these too!
The appointed candidate would ideally hold a full UK valid driving license, which will enable you to get to and from each service more conveniently.
The role of Assistant Service Manager requires you to work across all shifts, including evenings and weekends, with participation in an On Call Rota.

Day-to-day duties within this role will include:
* Experience in a similar role within social care (e.g., Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader).
* Experience supporting people who have learning disabilities and/or complex needs.
* Experience of managing budgets and financial information.
* Knowledge of sector-relevant legislation, regulatory bodies, and their standards.
* Ability to work with your Service Manager to manage and lead a successful and positive team.
* Understanding the balance between keeping our people safe and positive risk-taking.
* Staying up to date with policies and procedures to carry out and maintain safe and best practices.
* Supporting the Service Manager to recruit new employees and develop and manage your staff team in a fair and consistent manner.
* Working with your Service Manager to reinforce a positive culture of continuous improvement.
* Acting as the Service Manager in their absence.
* Participating in a management cover rota, which could include day and night shifts.
* Taking ownership of continuing professional development for yourself and the team.
* Working with your Service Manager to use management information to make sound business decisions to encourage a solutions-led culture.
* Completing staff supervisions as well as booking and managing staff training and development.
* Rota management.
* Weekly and monthly finance and medication audits.
* Ordering, storage, and disposal of medication.
* Motivating and inspiring your team to provide outstanding support through effective training, coaching, and leadership by example.
* Providing day-to-day support for the people we are supporting, including support at home, in the community, and with personal care.
