Working pattern: Flexible home working up to three days per week
Department: Commercial Finance
Salary range: £38,000 - £43,000 per annum, dependent on experience + Study Support
General Summary:
We have an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Trade Division at Bonnier Books UK. The role will provide financial reporting, commercial information, and business partnering support to our Adult and Children publishing divisions.
Key responsibilities:
1. Prepare weekly and monthly financial reporting
2. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
3. Partner with department heads to understand their financial needs and support with sales and costs tracking
4. Review and report on previously published book performance
5. Assist in systems improvements to our business intelligence system
6. Support the royalties team with financial analysis and reconciliations
7. Identify and implement reporting improvements
8. Prepare the key monthly provision calculations on returns, stock, and advances
9. Ensure best practice and financial controls are followed
10. Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit
11. Deputise as appropriate in departmental meetings
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Finance Analyst or similar role
2. Industry experience preferred but not essential

4. Strong numeracy and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
5. Track record of providing valuable insights via proactive analytics
6. Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques
7. Ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance colleagues and partners
8. Advanced Excel user (e.g., INDEX/MATCH, Conditional formatting, Power Query, etc.)
9. Previous experience using PowerBI or other visualization software would be an advantage
