Senior Engineering Manager - Electrical Systems Company: Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe Limited Reporting into the Director of Engineering for EASA modifications, the Senior Engineering manager coordinates all activities with regards to the development of departmental engineering data, leading to the approval of aircraft level STCs, minor changes and minor repairs under the Company's EASA Part 21 subpart J approved Design Organisation approval. The successful candidate will bring with them strong project leadership, technical mentoring and decision-making skills The candidate will be leading and responsible for Electrical engineering teams, while abiding to the DOA processes and procedures in compliance with EASA Part 21 requirements. Above all, the candidate will perform their role with integrity and have a strong sense of responsibility and pride both in their work and the work of the broader team. Management Duties Communicates effectively with customers, sales, and marketing teams on product capabilities and features. Develops and implements plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for the engineering team as part of engineering services Possess an understanding of engineering job practices, certification techniques, industry standards, principles, theories and concepts. Effectively manages resources in collaboration with the global engineering team Must have strong project management skills Ensuring that the required documents are prepared within time frames to be provided to the Agency for approval Providing guidelines for generation of engineering processes and documents including drawings, bulletins and supplements Previously approval as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) within their specialist technical field of expertise (Desirable) Working in collaboration with the Head of Design Organization and Head of Office of Airworthiness to ensure design organization procedures continue to meet the quality and performance metrics of the business Providing regular feedback to the Head of Engineering- EASA modifications on the performance of the teams Responsible for day to day project management of departmental engineering activities including time management and budgeting Technical management of departmental engineering teams Must be able to develop and execute departmental plans, policies and procedures, providing input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives. Must be able to deal with management at all levels, both internally and externally. Must act in a professional manner in order to protect and enhance the Company's reputation as a world leader in large aircraft manufacture and continued airworthiness Willingness to take ownership of challenges within the business Ability to drive change to working practices and procedures to improve and enhance the Company business model Must be willing to mentor, develop and motivate first line managers and engineering staff. Required Qualification/Experience Demonstrated experience in a design & certification-related engineering role A proven track record in aircraft modification engineering is essential Current or previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) is desirable Good working knowledge of EASA Part 21 and the requirements for large aircraft is essential Knowledge of FAA, GCAA and other airworthiness authority regulations would be an advantage A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing engineering teams is essential. Knowledge of Airbus and Boeing wide-body/narrow body types is essential Education Requirements A recognized aeronautical or engineering degree, however other internationally recognized aeronautical qualifications will be considered based on technical knowledge and experience Must be fluent in English both written and spoken Leadership Attributes Charts the Course- Translates strategy into actionable objectives and plans.
