We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Non - Medical Prescriber to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Winchester, a Category B prison located in central Winchester.
HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.
Although the site is close to Winchester city centre, there is onsite parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.
Hours
37.5 hours a week working 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday, 1pm-9pm. There is also the option to pick up some bank shifts at weekends.
Salary
This position is full time; you'll receive an annual salary up to £60,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Non Medical Prescriber, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Undertake Clinical Nursing Practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver care to patients.
* Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
* Provide treatment as required, including prescribing medication, within your sphere of competence.
* Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients looked after.
* Provide advice/support in relation to crisis situations, conditions, and treatment plans based on medical and treatment history.
* Carry out a clinical review with the patient and update care plans accordingly.
Qualifications required:
* Registered professional with current active registration (NMC, GPHC, HCPC)
* BSc or equivalent qualification
* Non-medical prescribing qualification
* Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including Clinical Governance, Quality & Outcomes Framework
* Understanding of evidence-based practice
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
