Assistant Accountant-Aftersales
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The role

This is a role where you will work closely with the Aftersales Accountant, the Franchise Financial Controller be part of an experienced and supportive Accounts team. Your focus will be around the day to day duties to ensure the financial health of our TPS (Trade Parts Specialists), which are located in Exeter, Dartford, South London, Oxford, Reading, Swindon and Tonbridge. Which means you will be working on a hybrid basis with the opportunity to work from any of your sites. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to attend visits to the sites we have and therefore if you are successful you must be happy and willing to travel.
In addition to these duties, you will be required to assist with balance sheet control and risk/audit management, along with ensuring inventory checks meet internal requirements, managing working capital and on-going cost reviews. We offer training through our in-house Marshall Finance Academy in addition to study support and ongoing on-site training/leadership & support.
Who you are-
We are looking to speak to you if you are currently in an Accountancy/Data/Administrator position or an individual with demonstrable experience and a proven understanding of the role and the day to day function within accounts. You will be happy to self-manage your workload and time, and enjoy working in fast paced environment, to time deadlines where you will be part of a supportive and friendly team. Current or previous Automotive experience is desirable but not an essential to be considered for this position.
What you’ll do
Daily
-Point of contact for our TPS and Bodyshop Managers to assist with any Accounts related queries.
-Supporting the Aftersales Accountant in day to day tasks including debt and WIP reviews and invoice/expense payment requests.
-Ensure all accounts office tasks have been completed in an accurate and timely manner
Weekly
-Bad debt provision reporting & review
-Clear and reconcile any balances in suspense accounts.
Monthly
-Assisting with the production of management accounts.
-Calculate and post accruals and prepayments
-Raise Invoice’s for TPS sites
-Submit Cost Submissions for TPS sites
-Assist in Balance sheet reconciliations.
-Key controls preparation and review
