Our Head Office is the heartbeat of our brands and we have a rare opening within our in house Tax Team for a Tax specialist to join us and further develop their tax knowledge within a team of experienced Tax professionals.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Assistant Manager to join us on a permanent basis. In this role you will be a fundamental part of the team in delivering M&B’s corporation tax, VAT and employment tax compliance and reporting obligations, alongside supporting the wider business with tax advice, including liaison with HMRC and external advisors as necessary.
In this varied role, you will support the Group Tax Manager and Tax Manager with Corporation Tax, VAT and employment tax compliance and reporting. We are looking for a proactive individual who has an appetite to work across a range of areas within taxation to further develop their technical skills.
In this Office Flexible role, you will be based at our vibrant Head Office in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. Whilst you may not be serving our guests, your support will put smiles on our guests and teams faces. This is the place where we get creative, train our teams and crunch our numbers. What will I be doing…?
Key Responsibilities:
* To work under the leadership and supervision of the Tax Manager to provide support in all areas of corporation tax compliance and reporting including CT returns, CT payments on account, UK-UK transfer pricing calculations, corporate interest restriction calculations, country by country reporting, Pillar 2 and year end/half-year tax accounting
* To work under the leadership and supervision of the Tax Manager to provide support in all areas of VAT compliance and reporting, including input into the quarterly VAT return preparation
* Prepare the PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) calculations and returns for review by the Group Tax Manager and onward submission to HMRC
* Have the opportunity to develop skills in the area of employment tax with interaction with the payroll team and the wider business

Qualifications
* ATT qualified
* CTA qualified/part-qualified desirable
* Experience in a corporate tax or VAT team within a national accounting practice and/or industry
* Experience of employment taxes would be advantageous
