Salary Range: £40,000 - £50,000 Role Responsibilities Lead the New Product Development aspects for the relevant to MFT (Manufacturing Technology) stage gate processes. Contribute to the adoption of a digitalized approach in the way we perform technical work, embedding and growing our capabilities through lab rig automation and data rich reactions. Contribute to the fundamental understanding of existing products and processes, e.g.: cost structure, bill of materials. Ability to think outside of the box and to apply knowledge gained elsewhere to the projects and processes under your control. Co-ordinate activities of lab-based colleagues carrying out work on behalf of MFT. Manage external relationships with suppliers, equipment manufacturers, universities, etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, while being the interface with Technology and the plants to achieve functional technology implementations and process improvements. Ensure the scalability of the processes, supporting plant trials at third parties and providing technical input for agile identification of root cause analysis. Key Requirements Good process and chemistry background (preferably, but not exclusively in the organic and polymer fields), as well as knowledge of statistical methodologies are also desired. Ability to search, including literature search, and use existing knowledge where applicable. Teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential to this position. Communicate effectively project planning and progress with sponsors and stakeholders. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently, balancing priorities and making independent and timely decisions. Critical thinking with a problem-solving attitude, approaching challenges in a solution-focused way. Manufacturing plant experience is desirable but not essential. Project management and leadership experience would be an advantage. Knowledge of foreign languages could be beneficial but is not required A good knowledge of analytical techniques and how to apply them to the products and process development is preferred but not essential.
