We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support and maintenance services for our products and systems.
This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service.
As a Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction through effective communication and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
As a Service Engineer/Technician, you will be required to give our customers the best-in-class quality service. You will provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support.
You will be required to develop technical knowledge of highly engineered and automated coil processing and roll forming equipment (roll forming or related equipment experience would be beneficial).
This role requires experience or aptitude to develop knowledge in both mechanical and electrical engineering; experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and knowledge of PLC Systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc) would be preferable.
When not at customer sites, your role would be to assist the UK division in generating revenue by promoting service visits and spare parts sales.
The role would also include installation and start-up of equipment globally.
This can require international travel Internal Group of companies for training on particular projects and then carryout the installation/start-up at our customer sites; either individually or managing a team of personnel.
Key Responsibilities:

4. To develop and maintain good working relationships with customers ensuring you are always punctual, helpful and courteous.
5. Generate opportunities, revenue and workload by advising and communicating with customers frequently, alongside existing customer service and sales personnel.
6. Provide routine servicing and breakdown assistance to customers to quickly resolve problems.
7. Train customers in safe operation and maintenance of company equipment, per safety standards and per our risk assessment.
8. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of business equipment and technology by training online, in customers facilities and occasionally at other Group factories.
9. Liaise with engineering, sales and other group companies as required on both new and existing projects and potential leads.
10. Timely completion and submission of risk assessments, method statements, field service reports, activity reports and all other documentation immediately after trips and monthly on expense reports.
11. Timely completion of site tasks and activities, within the budgeted plan and timescale.
12. Offer feedback on future product development, features and function.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Service Engineer or in a similar technical role.
* Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on customer service.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations is advantageous.
