Are you passionate about NHS operational management, delivering effective, safe and efficient services, and service improvement? Then, the Surgical Division at Wye Valley NHS Trust would like to hear from you.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to join our Divisional Management team as General Manager for the Womens & Childrens Directorate. This is a demanding, yet rewarding post in a high profile Directorate that includes a number of key services, including our maternity service. You will have highly developed leadership skills, high levels of personal motivation and resilience, and a proven ability to lead and deliver success through multi-disciplinary teams.
If this sounds of interest to you, please get in touch. For informal discussions, please contact Sandra.Oliver@wvt.nhs.uk to arrange a suitable time.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have responsibility for the daily operational management of the Womens & Childrens Directorate, leading the Directorate alongside the Clinical Director and Matron, and working with the Associate Director of Midwifery to deliver high quality, safe, efficient, and cost effective services.
This is an exciting time for the Surgical Division at Wye Valley NHS Trust. During 2024 we opened our new Elective Surgical Hub and throughout 2025, we will continue on our journey to make significant positive change to our planned care pathways, building on the productivity and patient experience improvements we have already made. To this end, the successful candidate will lead key service improvement workstreams within their Directorate. Our Maternity service also forms a key part of the Womens and Childrens portfolio, making this position a unique role within the Trust. More broadly, the successful candidate will ensure key operational targets are delivered, alongside ensuring robust governance arrangements are in place.
