Please note this is a long term temporary post to start ASAP
We can accommodate an earlier start date if the candidates have all checks in place and are immediately available. The role involves working as part of a team providing efficient day-to-day operations within libraries and encouraging customers to self-serve. Responsibilities include delivering a high standard of customer service across all channels, recognizing when customers are vulnerable or require extra assistance, and ensuring their needs are met professionally. You will represent the Council as the first point of contact, ensuring the service is customer-focused, promoting the Council’s core values and Customer Service Standards. Additionally, you will promote a love of books and reading, working proactively on reader development and participating in nationwide reading initiatives. You will provide full and accurate information to customers in a friendly and welcoming environment and handle the majority of inquiries without referrals. The role also includes providing first-line access to customers for all library, council, and voluntary services, assisting Libraries with the development and delivery of digital services, and supporting the implementation of digital and assisted digital projects. Enfield Libraries consist of four flagship libraries: Edmonton Green, Enfield Town, Ordnance Unity Centre, and Palmers Green, plus related community libraries.
