Job Description:
Senior Support Worker - Weymouth
We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Support Worker looking for progression into their next role. Your role as a Senior Support Worker will be key to the support of the person within our care, ensuring we promote growth in order to maximise their potential. You will be a full and active participant in the work of the team, demonstrating best practice, being a role model, and providing day-to-day support, guidance, and direction to your team members.
This role is only suitable for females due to the needs of the person we support.
You would also need to hold a full Driving license and have access to your own vehicle to be considered for this role as you would be required to drive to activities in Weymouth and using public transport is not an option.
Carina is in her early 30s and based in Weymouth. She enjoys being outside, is very sociable, likes going to arts and crafts groups, playing with beads or doing puzzles, and loves caravan holidays. She also enjoys watching YouTube videos and has a love for music.
We are recruiting Full Time only, which is 39 hours per week. You would be required to work alternate weekends and do sleep-ins (sleep-ins receive an additional payment) and be comfortable with personal care.
What we are looking for:
* Level 3 Social Care (or equivalent)
* Experience with Autism
* Experience of working with challenging behaviour
* Ability to communicate effectively with work colleagues and other professionals
* Good organisational skills
* Able to work flexible hours including sleep-ins and on-call shifts
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A full driver's license and access to a car
What we offer:
* A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development
* 12-week induction programme consisting of in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
* A generous employee referral scheme – you can earn £400 for each person you successfully refer!
* The opportunity to complete an accredited qualification once you’ve passed your probation period.
* All colleagues have access to an internal learning portal so you can increase your skills and knowledge in the areas that interest you the most.
* Cycle to work scheme
* Up to 33 days annual leave pro-rata (including bank holidays)
* Benefits portal which gives you access to money off your favourite shops, restaurants, and great days out, along with a cashback healthcare plan for general day-to-day healthcare such as optical and dental.
* A 24 Hour Employee Assistance Programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family and legal information.
* We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to support you in the event you experience issues relating to your mental health.
* Maternity/Paternity pay
