Role description:
The Site Evaluation & Restoration (SER) team is our award-winning specialist business area that investigates, assesses and manages all aspects of the below ground environment with the additional wrap-around project, contract and commercial management teams specialising in all aspects of brownfield regeneration, contaminated land clean-up and demolition services.
We are currently looking to recruit a Geoenvironmental Discipline Lead to join the SER Leadership Team to lead the Geoenvironmental Discipline within SER and undertake key leadership activities including:
1. Embedding technical excellence in delivery.
2. Developing and implementing team structure & growth plan.
3. Developing and implementing key roles, responsibilities and delegation.

Role accountabilities:
Alongside the wider requirements of a Senior Leader within Arcadis, this specific role has the following key requirements:
1. The Head of Discipline holds ultimate Line Management responsibility for the Discipline of approximately 90 individuals.
2. Work with Disciplines Lead to identify growth requirements for the Discipline and assess current capacity and capability.
3. Develop recruitment, training and mentoring plans to both retain and support growth requirements.
4. Build strong working relationships with other SER Disciplines and wider Arcadis Service to drive better collaboration.
5. Supply chain - identify where service critical gaps exist and develop plan to bridge the gap.
6. Act as Leadership sponsor for relevant Communities of Practice (CoPs) to enable effective knowledge share.
7. Provide insight and support development of strategic direction and market opportunities for the team, working with the SER Solutions Lead and Leadership Team to build a pipeline and sales revenue aligned to plan.
8. Work with the Disciplines Lead and People Lead to develop a high performing, positive and vibrant SER business, where people understand their impact and contribution to the SER Business Plan and have the skills and capability to deliver.
9. This role has ultimate accountability for developing and implementing a structure and delegated authority to ensure delivery of high-quality pursuits and proposals.
10. As Head of Discipline, you will be required to work closely with the Business Managers and Project Managers to manage delivery to Client requirements and to the contracted scope of service.
11. Identify opportunities for innovation and digitization in service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
This role requires:
1. Demonstrable experience at a senior level within the Geoenvironmental Sector.
2. Recognised Industry Leader.
3. Proven Technical Skills and Experience aligned to discipline.
4. Chartership is desirable but not essential if experience is relevant and demonstrable.
5. A strong professional profile.
