Check out the development opportunities in the Fraud team.
This is a Hybrid role, the Fraud team works from our Cardiff Offices 3 days per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
The primary role of the Team Leader will be to support the Senior Fraud Manager in driving the performance and development of team members in a supportive, transparent, and accountable environment. Your success is the success of the members of your team in aggregate, as measured by their performance, as well as their satisfaction and wellbeing. It’s up to you to apply your management and leadership skills to create a unique and ambitious culture in your team. We expect our Team Leads to spend their time developing the skills and capabilities of their teams.
The team focuses on onboarding new customers to the business, monitoring existing customers, and reviewing fraud risks. This role suits someone with experience in making risk-based decisions, who has made the conscious decision to develop towards being a leader of people, and wishes to hone and further expand that skill set within Fraud.
* Responsible for leading a team of up to 6 FTE Fraud Investigators as they conduct fraud investigations during the onboarding and life-cycle of a customer’s account.
* Ongoing development of team members, identifying areas for improvement and leveraging individual and team forums (1-1s, coaching sessions, huddles, team meetings, etc.) to affect positive change.
* Understanding the teams’ tasks and acting as an escalation point for team members on the floor when support is required.
* Taking ownership of raising/removing barriers that ‘get in the way’ of team members completing their role effectively.
* Using data to drive a high-performance environment where workload is consistently completed in a timely manner.
* Working closely with and building relationships with key internal stakeholders including other operational teams.
We’re Looking For
* Extensive experience within Fraud is essential; you should have knowledge of different fraud typologies and how to prevent them.
* Meticulous attention to detail in order to know when things are not working as designed.
* Cases won’t always fit into neatly defined criteria, and so you’ll need to be confident in your ability to make best-judgment decisions based on the information available and be able to communicate these effectively.
* At least 1 year of management experience is essential - ideally in a financial services environment, preferably within Fraud.
* Genuinely care about the development of the team and the individuals you manage as demonstrated by your interactions across the business.
* Ability to give and receive open and constructive feedback.
