JOB SUMMARY
The Dispatch and Packing Manager has direct responsibility for all operations in the warehouse as well as shipping at the Polymer facility. This position will ensure on-time, safe distribution of our products to exceed our customer’s expectations, meet inventory accuracy goals and optimise the efficiency of the drum and bag line operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervise warehouse employees to ensure operational standards for dispatch, inventory and packaging are met
* Coordinate activities of the warehouse team and work closely with production planning
* Resolve hazards and perform incident analysis on safety occurrences
* Improve and update procedures and operator training
* Resolve customer complaints assigned to dispatch area in a timely manner
* Maintain inventory to accuracy goals by conducting routine physical counts
* Work with the 3PL to ensure stock accuracy at external warehouses
* Organise miscellaneous load needs and remove barriers for employees
* Maintain equipment by enforcing operational instructions and calling for repairs
* Maintain storage area by organising floor space and recommending improvements
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS
* Extensive supervisory experience in a production/warehouse environment
* Ability to lead and motivate a team
* Strong organisational skills
* Experience in a production environment is essential
* Excellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate with a diverse workforce
* Experience leading improvement processes, including continuous improvement methods such as 5S
* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email; competent in Microsoft Access and SAP a plus
* Experience working with 3PLs
