Business Development Manager Nolan Group UK General Haulage & 3PL Transport Operation We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing new business development, growing sales and managing the customer service team. The role is based at Nolan Group Company - John Raymond Transport Ltd, in Bridgend, Wales. The salary for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. The Candidate: Proven experience winning new business within the general haulage and 3PL/4PL sector. A proven track record in growing UK/UK, UK/Europe and International sales. Growing sales across all aspects of the business – full loads, groupage, customs clearance services and warehousing. Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, including market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape and pricing. Demonstrated track record of successfully acquiring new clients and driving revenue growth. Ability to grow and manage a sales team. Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Commercial acumen and experience building the sales pipelines, responding to RFQs, developing proposals and in negotiating £ multi-million transport contracts. Experience of managing a team – managing the current on site customer service team. Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities. Proficiency in using transportation management systems and other relevant software applications. Avid industry learner, naturally curious and highly passionate about the transport/logistics sector. Flexibility to travel as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive client development strategy to maximize revenue and profitability, focusing on general haulage and 3PL transport services. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market share. Establish and maintain relationships with potential clients, negotiate contracts, and secure long-term partnerships. Develop a sales pipeline for UK/UK, UK/Europe and International business. Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business. Understand client needs, anticipate requirements, and provide tailored transport solutions to meet their expectations. Pricing and Contract Management: Develop pricing strategies and ensure competitive and profitable rates are offered to clients. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions. Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and stay ahead of the competition. Team Player: Natural communicator and collaborator who builds strong international relationships and shares sales intelligence across the wider Nolan Group sales team in a bid to contribute to the overall success of the group.
