Job overview We are seeking a Programme Manager to join the MSK directorate Programme Management Office (PMO) to lead on the delivery of programmes of improvement and change. The post holder should have excellent leadership skills, a track record of delivering projects, an enthusiasm for improving patient services, an ability to create opportunities for self and others to challenge and push boundaries to develop better ways of delivering our services. Main duties of the job The MSK Programme Manager will lead on the delivery of a programme of improvement projects sitting within the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Programme Management Office (PMO) with a specific lead on: The Sheffield MSK Service (SMSKS) integrated model. The underpinning Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement (PROM) system, patient compliance and use of the data at patient and system level for service improvement. The implementation of the MyPathway app to transform how we deliver our care and development of a matched non-digital solution for outcomes collection for people unable to engage digitally. Specific programmes and projects of change to align with the operational needs of the directorate. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria • Degree level qualification or relevant/suitable experience • Masters level qualification, or equivalent experience • Evidence of quality improvement/organisational development CPD • Clinical qualification (any discipline) Desirable criteria • Graduate of the Sheffield MCA/FCA or Dartmouth eCTC programme or other qualification in Quality Improvement/Organisational Development or equivalent experience • Project/Programme Management qualification or equivalent experience Experience Essential criteria • Experience of successfully leading improvement projects or programmes • Experience of line managing a variety of grades of staff • Proven experience in a complex organisation working on projects that involve operational change • Demonstrable experience of making significant judgements involving highly complex facts or situations requiring analysis and interpretation from a range of options • Experience in a clinical role for at least 3 years • Experience of working and influencing senior teams • Experience of working across professional and organisational boundaries • Experience and confidence to represent the programme at local, and national level • Experience of managing teams • Competent at using the full range of Microsoft office programmes • Good understanding of the national strategic context of the NHS • Ability to work with and build relationships with local, regional and national organisations • Highly developed analytical skills and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources and present in a clear and concise manner. • High level critical thinking skills to support innovation initiatives. • Highly developed influencing skills with the ability to present to and engage a wide range of stakeholders in ideas and proposals. • Excellent performance management skills. • Able to work at a strategic and operational level on own initiative • Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with individuals on a one-to-one basis and with groups. • Ability to manage complex workload under pressure and prioritise to meet deadlines • Excellent problem solving, facilitation and negotiating skills.
