Days/hours of work: Monday - Friday, 3.30pm - 11.30pm 37.5 hours per week

Job Purpose:
To ensure all aspects of Service Centre automation is maintained and serviceable and operating efficiently.
Key Accountabilities;
To perform preventative maintenance procedures and repair where necessary the automated pick system, (Automat and integrated line), using electrical/electronic mechanical and pneumatic disciplines.
To maintain and repair the associated equipment where applicable to the role (subject to qualifications and legal requirements), consisting of: compressors, label printers, strapping machines, manual barcode scanners, PC’s and printers.
Where specialist repairs are required, the Automat Technician is expected to arrange for the timely execution of this work, including overseeing contractors on site when necessary.
To ensure a comprehensive stock of spare parts is available at all times to support the Automat and associated equipment.
To maintain records relating to the maintenance and repair of the equipment and the spare parts stockholding.
To liaise with the Alliance Healthcare internal agencies to ensure maximum availability, reliability and efficiency is achieved in the operation and day to day running of the Automat.
To assist in staff training that is directly related to the correct and safe practice for automated equipment.

To maintain cover for breakdowns and repairs during branch working hours. (See additional Information)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Job Knowledge
Broad based knowledge of Electrical/Mechanical equipment, with a minimum of at least 2 years technical experience spent with computer controlled machinery.
Experience of pneumatics, conveying systems and compressed air is also a requirement of the role.
Intermediate numeracy and literacy are also requirements of the role.
