Now is an increasingly exciting time in our Clinical Digital journey at the QEH as well as working collaboratively with our Norfolk and Waveney’s acute hospitals at JPUH and the NNUH in the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
The new digital patient record solution, which will improve staff and patient experience, is part of a national ambition the government has to revolutionise how information is stored to provide better joined-up care. In addition, there are several other digital health projects underway to ensure consistent steps toward increasing our digital maturity as an acute Trust and across the wider ICS as we prepare for and await the implementation of our EPR.
Implementing programmes and projects of this size requires wide-spread change and improvement that will see benefits for our patients and staff for many years to come. We are looking for someone to join our growing project team to support with the preparations of our EPR implementation in the role of a Digital Health Change Agent.
This role would be ideal for someone with confident interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for projects, good time management and organisational skills, and a passion for supporting high quality patient care as the desired outcome of digital change.
A key part of this role will be engaging with relevant stakeholders (including staff) to ensure a smooth transition to digital transformation with our EPR.
The post-holder will work with the Application Support & Training team in the configuration, design, documentation, development, testing and delivery of the Role-based access control (RBAC) requirements for EPR.
This will involve working with various stakeholders including Information Governance, Data Quality & team managers across the organisation.
The post holder will manage the delivery of the change programme as per the agreed project plan. This innovative and specialist work will include management and running of change workshops, analysing processes, recommending changes to process to achieve increased efficiency and enhanced effectiveness.
The post holder will liaise with staff at the point of care, middle office, clinical and senior management to optimise Trust activities.
The post-holder will have line management responsibilities of the Digital Change Agents and will work jointly with the Digital Chief Operating Information Officer and Digital Health Application Support & Training Manager as well as the nominated Clinical Change Lead.
There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.
Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.
We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.
We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.
